Seaside of Oxnard will be having Select Teams for the 10u and 12u division for the upcoming season.
Seaside of Oxnard participates in the USA Select B program this spring. The Select B program is for the 10U and 12U divisions and provides an advanced playing experience for girls that are also playing on traditional recreational level softball teams. The Select season will run from approximately January 12 to March 31, 2020. The teams will limit themselves to gathering just one day a week (Sunday) for either practice or games. A typical spring Select Season will have Seaside of Oxnard Select teams scrimmaging and playing in a tournament with Select teams from other leagues.
The Select season begins with tryouts. Select tryouts are different than the recreational league evaluations, because, unfortunately, not everyone who attends the tryout sessions will be chosen to play on a team. Each Select team will have a final roster that will be somewhere between 11 and 14 players. The number of Select teams in each division will be determined based upon the number of qualified participants (and coaches) participating in the tryouts. The selection process will begin with the first tryout session (the first tryout will also include a brief information session for parents). Prospective players must attend the tryout session. Following the tryout session, final team selections will be made and players will then be notified.
